Here we go!

Hello!

My name is Richard and I’m extremely excited to welcome you all to Vaga Journeys! It’s been a dream of mine to be able to take people on trips around the world, and now the dream is becoming a reality. I’ve worked in various parts of the travel industry, and even got my master’s degree in tourism administration. Traversing the globe is part of who I am, and now I want to share that with everybody else.

I am extremely excited to be embarking on this journey with my partner Nathalie. She also has an extreme passion for travel and sharing life experiences with like-minded wanderers. We’ve been planning this for a long time and now, in 2020, we’re ready to go. Check out all of her articles on this blog as well, as she provides some extremely valuable travel insight. Then, we can’t wait to both meet you on one of our tours!

When I was a child, my travel was limited to what my family could afford, car trips around the eastern United States. Still, I couldn’t help dreaming of visiting every country and experiencing the thrill of the journey. I took my first flight when I was 19 to the Bahamas and later that year, I left the continent for the first time to study abroad in Paris. I was hooked and there was no going back.

Now I’m proud to say that I’ve been to about 50 countries and over 40 US states, and my thirst for more grows every day. I love all kinds of travel from high end urban hotels to sleeping in camper vans in the middle of nowhere. It overwhelms me that I won’t be able to visit everywhere in my lifetime, but I’m going to give it my best shot.

My greatest travel memories are when I’m with old a new friends and people I love sharing in the world’s epic adventures. Sipping cocktails on the beach, dancing the night away under the stars, eating street food in a new country, biking along a foreign river, and seeing the vast expanse of a new city are all examples of experiences that have enhanced my life. Now, I can’t wait to take you on these journeys with us!

Stay tuned for more articles and future trips. It’s going to be an amazing ride!

Richard
